How to Train a Novice Intubator in the Emergency Department
A systematic review looked at direct laryngoscopy and it's purely in the adult population by novice intubators. They found that students needed between 51 and 75 endotracheal intubations to be able to achieve a success rate of 90%. If you're aiming for a higher standard, one of the papers they looked at demonstrated that you'd need over 200Intubations to get that level of competence.
