The Importance of Language in Film Classification
It can be an accumulation of scenes throughout a film. But it's possible that one scene can fundamentally alter the classification of a film. A country like the Netherlands, for example, or Sweden or Denmark, they classify according to harm. So what that essentially means in the real world is language. If there's a film with lots of swearing, it's going to get a high classification in English-speaking countries such as Ireland and US. The UK doesn't really care about swearing because it's not going to harm a child to hear swearing. It's just offensive and their parents might not like it.
