The Distorting Effect of Media Organisations on Domestic Violence
The media isn't going to cover every domestic violence event. How do you get around the distorting effect that they have on people? David Fisher and I, we've suggested that media organisations with the support from justice agencies put together a bit of a toolkit for late night reporters. You need to know how big a problem is violence. Is this a problematic area where it's happening? Is it a gang issue? We can enable them to do a better job and not blow stuff out of proportion.
