The Importance of Understanding the Universe

There are some basic concepts in physics that physicists don't really have a good definition for. The idea of energy seems like a super-duper basic concept in physics, but we can do complicated calculations and predictions using quantum mechanics. It's still amazing that there are things that even we didn't cover in our book that physicists still struggle to define.
