MEG reflects the magnetic fields that are associated with associated with our neurons, electrical activity. So it has millisecond temporal resolution. It's parallel to EEG in that sense. But unlike EEG, which kind of gets distorted as you go from the neuronal source by the time you're at the scalp, there's not a pretty reflection of what was the underlying configuration.
