The Importance of Discernment

We have a responsibility to educate ourselves deeply in the Word of God and then rely upon the Holy Spirit to give us discernment. Paul's discernment in regards to what was going on as a ship was due to his first-hand knowledge of actually being on these trips, and I believe there was spiritual discernment as well. Discernment doesn't come if we don't take the time to hide his word in our hearts and minds. If we are lazy in our pursuit of God, we will lack discernment in a lack of discernment hinders witness every time.
