The Compromise of Herod
Herod's over two on how he treats religious leaders. He knocked him, arrayed him in a gorgeous robe, and sent him back to Pilate. So it didn't work. Attempt to compromise number one, to pass the buck and have someone else be the bad guy when you know what the right thing to do is did not work. And because of that, Herod set him at naught. Now listen to what Pilate says: "'Ye have brought this man unto me as one that perverted the people' "
