Is a Puff Piece Effected?
It's as if journalism, criticism, is synchronizing itself with the market and with selling tickets. I feel really deeply irritated because i don't want to be helping the market. There's a space on television where this kind of criticism survives, but it's an amateur space. The families who who really entertain us all and hive been our love goggle box. They all express ther views in a kind of dizzyingly free way that you used to see on news night. Weits fantastically informative in terms of how the audience is reacting. It's not criticism in itself, it's how any piece of work is coming across.
