Eugene bullard served in the French foreign legion during world war one. He was wounded at verdun, earned the quadeger and enlisted in the aviation corps after leaving the hospital following his injury. His leg wound still affected his mobility enough that he couldn't just move back into his previous role as a machine gunner. We'll talk more about bullard's life in paris in our next episode.
