Is There a Way to Make a State Pension Payment?

The amount of full national insurance shares you need can vary based on your age and your national insurance record. So that's why I say it's 35 years each, but some will need more than 40 years. You need to contact the HMRC National Insurance Helpline to get yourself an 18 character reference number which is needed to ensure the payment is allocated to the correct National Insurance Record. However, that doesn't appear to be any way to do this online. If not, go back to before you do anything, contact the pension service and talk to them about your situation.
