The Role of the Nasal Forebrain in Olfaction
In olfaction, as in every sensory system, there are a lot of different mechanisms for olfaction for adaptation. And what's interesting here is that through transcription, the neurons turn themselves up or down on time scales like minutes to hours. You know, and our thought is that this kind of adaptive mechanism helps us as humans and most animals kind of adapt to environments we are soaking ourselves in chronically during the day.
