Why Is It Imolite to Not Be Reading While You Eat?

I remember thinking, surely you guys are like besties. Don't you talk about anything and everything? But it just seemed weird that in a social situation, you would do something so... Anti-social. You could just not be at the restaurant and read then. Imagine bringing your TV and watching the game, whilst eating your food. Or watching a YouTube video on your phone while standing dinner. So he was eating whilst having the book. I feel like it's just a weird... I can't imagine eating and reading a book. If you had spaghetti or something or some food is going to potentially mess the book up, it just seems like something that needs your concentration 100%. Like this
