React and Server Components: A New Primitive
Next.js popularized this idea that React works better with a server for multiple reasons, including route based code splitting and data fetching. Sebastian on the React team was working on these problems for the new Facebook.com. They optimized it for this massive use case, larger pages, all that. And they got to a point where like you get a lot of benefits from using relay. You can render a different component based on your data really allow you to do that as well. Get right a query and then get a component back from that. I think that's called entry points, if I'm not mistaken.
