Home Prices Have Risen to Unprecedented Levels

The US medium home price to the US median annualized rent in the 1960s was 11. It drove to 15.2 in the 70s, then 17.98 and went up until early 2000s at 21.8. Currently it has spiked back up from 19 to the highest ratio of home price to rents in decades of 27. The average amount of affordability that you could get was basically about double before interest rates went up to what it is right now.
