The Role of Harrington in Marxism
Harrington has such a strong allergy to any possible conception of class struggle that would actually be one that is centered on the contestation of actual power stakes, that he creates a Marxism completely devoid of any commitment to it. He thinks Marx had this youthful revolutionary phase, the communist manifesto,. It's calling for a proletarian revolution, violence and et cetera. But he thinks basically after that, Marx kind of abandoned that and became an advocate for just the parliamentary road to, electoral road to socialism. So I guess my question to you is, when you say a little bit more about understanding, not only Harrington here, but also what is the wider social democrat or social democracy position here? And
