Dan Fogelberg died in December of 2007 from prostate cancer. In 1981, Fogelberg released a song, Leader of the Band, which was written and inspired by his father. "The leader of the band is tired and his eyes are growing old," he wrote. 'His blood runs through my instrument and his song is in my soul'
