The Importance of Polymorphism in Programming

Until I read thinking of Java, I wrote my Java like I wrote my Pearl. You know, it's almost like you have to go on to a more complex set of concepts than just object oriented programming. It was like, I feel like maybe I misled a lot of people. Yeah. Well, we use generics for how many years before we realized it was a type of polymorpism. Right?
