Original dukes Tom Wopat, John Schneider and Katherine Bach were all offered cameos in this movie. They felt it did not pay tribute to the original series as Starsky and Hutch did. Danny McBride expressed interest in the role of Roscoe P Coltrane until he read the script. Jessica Simpson beat out Britney Spears, Mandy Moore and Jessica Beale for the role of Daisy Duke. 26 Dodge Chargers were used in this film several 1968 and 70 charges were converted to look like 69 chargers.
