The Importance of Food in Hiroshima
14 year old Yoshi Oka was one of the 23,000 children who had been evacuated from Hiroshima. The ratio for military personnel to civilians was quite low in a city with so little resources. If you don't have any food, it's going to be hard for an extra 250,000 people to show up at your city. Even just those 23,000 kids were lucky to get like a ball of rice a day as far as what they could eat.
