The Future of Mars

There is talk of actually staging missions to Mars from the Moon. It is surprisingly much more easy to go if you start at the Moon than you start on the Earth's surface. We have lived through some of the hottest weeks in the history of the planets and we are talking about getting off the planet, going to the Moon, trying to go to Mars. Is this not a distraction? How do you justify really what we spend on space exploration when there is a lot going on down here? And Libby, I am going to come to you to start for this. The Artemis program is about lunar exploration and advancing those technologies and doing the science on the Moon. But then the next step
