The Effect of Surgery on Epilepsy

The surgery was radical and desperate, but the idea was if there's an epileptic focus in the left hemisphere. If we cut the corpus callosum, this band of fibers that connects the right and left hemisphere, maybe only the left hemisphere will go down. And it worked, right? It was a clinical success. The number of epileptic seizures dropped dramatically. But the odd thing is there is now a left-half and right-half of the brain that have no communication between them.
