The typical formula for buying a business is that you have some money of your own, your equity. And then you might borrow from a bank against any assets that might be serving as collateral. If you try to buy a business with no equity, then the bank is going to be like, hmm, if something goes wrong, you're just going to bail. Why would we invest?
