Elixir for the First Time: What Are Some Common Design Pitfalls?

There are definitely some established sort of anti patterns I would say for people coming into this community. People doing a lot of concurrency rather than solving the problem in a functional way. You can do a lot of stuff just in a plain sequential functional way. But when you have this mindset with mutable variables and whatnot, it's kind of difficult to transition to this. So those would be the patterns that I've seen from people who are new to Elixir, but not necessarily new to programming.
