The artist's role is not necessarily just the proliferation of the science finding. They can also be an active participant in creating science. As equipments become more sophisticated, as different political changes have med it was harder to get into certain types of laboratories. Some people really feel that a lot of this art work is esoteric,. That it's really made only for scientists. I think viewers do have the ability to understand it.
