How to Structure Rounds Using Backward Design

A lot of instructors start by identifying the learning activities first, or they think about how to teach content. And then they develop assessments around those activities and finally try to make probably what end up being rather loose connections to the goals and objectives of the lesson. This is called forward design; really creating educational content in this way does have its pitfalls. Alternatively, you can kind of combat that by creating educational content using a process called backward design. Backward design is a framework that was described by Grant Wiggins and Jay McThi That calls for educators to first consider the desired results. Then to design the curriculum from those identified goals and objectives.
