Spasmodic disphonia is a neurological voice disorder, which western doctors believe is life long. It usually shows up in a person's thirties and flips the swit through vocal overuse, psychological stress and a high fever. The whole first year couldn't reliably sing, i had to surrender the notion that i would be a singer any more - it was the biggest heartbreak of my entire life.
