The Politics of Happiness

There's an endless variety of political philosophies from small government libertarianism to total government communism and everything in between. To choose a political philosophy, two questions must be answered with as much clarity as possible: What is the good life? And what is the scope of the government's role in making that good life possible? Until recently, I would have said the good life is up to each individual to define for him or herself.
