How to Downsize a Tracheostomy

With lower pressure cuffs, just like on endotracheal tube, we don't see that as much, but it certainly does. And the other benefit now is once you've deflated the cuff or gotten a cuffless trache in, we can allow the patient to phonate because usually air can flow around the outside of the trachea tube and go up through the vocal cords. How far out from the initial surgery would you downsize a trache? Yeah, I think I think it's somewhat surgeon dependent. You want to make sure the tract has formed or mostly formed.
