How Different Would a Medieval Carol Have Sounded?
How different would a medieval carol have sounded from one that we might listen to today? A lot of what we hear today is very Victorian-influenced. We still have songs like Adam Lee Bounding, which come up occasionally and performance. But it's difficult to say with exact precision, certainty whether the transcriptions we're making of these medieval carols are sounding anything like they did centuries ago.
