Six hour was making rifles during the seven years war to give you a sense of how old the company was. But in 2000 it was sold to new owners and they were looking to expand sales. They realized that gun restrictions, gun export restrictions in Europe, particularly Germany, were increasingly tight. In 2004 they hired a man Ron Cohen who has aggressively pushed the export of weapons. He's gone from being a bit player to the largest US exporter of firearms.
