Are Competent Looking People More Competent on Average?

How you look is more important than your academic ability, according to a new study. If i were trying to rise up in the military, i'd probably work out really hard and maybe grow a beard. Is it possible that competent looking people are indeed perhaps more competent on average? I don't know if i say that shows that they're competent. It shows that they's better salespeople or something.
