The Future of the City of London
Lloyd believes in the idea that buildings can be infinitely extended. He says there is no way of reconditioning pods meant to last for 20 years. We will soon travel underground from london to new york or moscow, he predicts. The car is an outdated piece of polluting technology which is out of step with the needs of the modern city. A vacuum tunnel transport system travelling at a thousand miles per hour will make trains compete with planes on long hall destinations. High speed train links are said to reinforce the importance of cities as hubs of communication and contact.
