Cultic development follows from doc trinal development. Early christians followed the example of the lord taking pagan images and reinterpreting them into the christian cult. A signet ring picturing a ship properly understood can be a christian symbol. i could see early christians then by inspiration from the lord following the example of jesus took a pagan image that is the coin of seizr there we go and made a valid theological point out of it right.
