The Loss of Local Newspapers

In 2009, a plane crash in Buffalo killed 50 people. Two reporters at the Buffalo News dug into what happened for months and months. Laws were changed so that pilots could not be as overtired or trained better. That's an example of local journalism doing its job extremely well. Now let's fast forward to two Buffalo now. The paper no longer has a working Statehouse Bureau person. It is down to about 75 staff members.
