The Role of Adoption in Personal Decision Making

Sally Kohn: There is one governing principle that can tell you whether or not you're on the right track. She says in adoption, it insists that adults do hard things on behalf of a child. In surrogacy, she says, children are separated from their birth parents and also experienced a wound. Kohn: Adoptive parents go into this really with the mindset of I'm going to shepherd my child through some of the loss they'll experience as a result of their adoption.
