Plato's Republic
Socrates notes near the end of the text a number of times that it's very likely that their ideal city could not possibly be created on earth. And so we might look as a guiding light sort of interpreting the republic to the model of the forms, right, which appears within the text. Now I think it's important to bring up this aspect of the work as grounded in ethical philosophy as its first concern because Plato's republic has been blamed for many political evils and crimes.
