The Imminence of Reason in Modernity

I think people tend to see reason and rationality as sometimes, certainly, concepts which have become misappropriated. How would you distinguish that from a kind of modern understanding of reason, which tends to actually be quite severed from any higher truth? It's more sort of more concern with imminence and how things are. That doesn't seem to be a kind of connection between reason and a higher truth. Could you speak a bit more about that? Absolutely.
