Each chapter is kind of a logical unit on its own. And so you often wanted to have its own purpose ideally its own argument to make you know something original you are bringing to your topic. So that is often something that is not immediately apparent after you've written your first draft but then as you're revising going through your second or later draft think about well why is this chapter here what do I want to read or to really understand?
