The Subversiveness of Happiness
"I would argue that Jesus' list is more subversive now than ever before," he says. "We have redefined happiness over the last few hundred years to feeling good about yourself and your situation." And there's all sorts of problems with that, especially if you're not born into a happy family or circumstances are out of your control,. He adds: 'Happiness is like a treadmill, you're always walking but you never actually arrive anywhere.'
