The Importance of Immersion in Numbers

Some languages use multiple sets of numbers or they treat ordinals very differently from the cardinal numbers. In Japanese this is too, they've got their own native numeral system and then the Chinese numbers they borrowed. So numbers can be tricky. I think some things are just really hard to get from immersion alone. That's my hot take. But filling in the gaps with numbers is not really a hard thing to do. It's just you take a day, you learn your numbers. You know, but depending on what language you're learning unless there's like 17 number systems. How many number systems are in Japanese cheeky?
