It's very hard to get a cholesterol over 300 without having heterozygous, really hypercholesterolemia and or thyroid disorder. The data that we have says you're at increased risk of heart disease. I think what you want to do is develop some evidence of it so a lot of people use coronary calcium scans. A much better detector of early disease risk would be carotid IMT which is fairly accessible because calcium is a late stage atherosclerotic risk and thickening is an early stage risk.
