The Transformation of France's Strategy in North Africa
France's strategy for a while seemed to be moving from being the lone sheriff in Africa to instead becoming the senior cop on the force. But all of this still costs French lives and a lot of French money, so why would France be putting so much effort into maintaining stability? Surely if it were just about migration, they'd be focusing on states like Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia and Libya,. rather than states much further from the French border like Mali, Burkina Faso, Chad and Niger. And this is a term we've been seeing developing for a while now, as France has traded you towards North Africa.
