It's really fascinating because we've never been able to separate the query engine from the data layer in databases, right? I think that's a really cool space and it could be very transformative. It puts me in mind too of what the folks at TileDB have been building towards. We want the data to be the thing that you care about and then let anything access it, but all of the intelligent things happen in the data layer.

Cloud data warehouses have unlocked a massive amount of innovation and investment in data applications, but they are still inherently limiting. Because of their complete ownership of your data they constrain the possibilities of what data you can store and how it can be used.
