A year off is the perfect time to take a break from work, says Brian. He had been working as a laborer and carpenter for three years before he was offered an apprenticeship in design. The film-maker has now finished out his tiling apprenticeship but still wants to make films. 'I'm just helping out with a bunch of different things, like phodo shop and all,' he said.
