Lawrence Kraus wrote that quotas and preferential hiring have persisted in academia. He was talking about the National Science Foundation questionnaire, which now includes questions on sexual orientation and gender identity. This is a pretty thunderous denunciation of the larger academic culture that prevails; it's what got Larry Summers ousted at Harvard.
