The Rise of the Showrunner

Some of my favorite shows like Broad City, like Insecure started on YouTube with like the creators like Alana Glaser, Abi Jacobson and like Issa Rae. And so people were playing with new technologies and imagining things. The problem now is that people are now creating these kind of proof of concept massive productions that are expensive to create. You know, and studios are like, great, show us more without necessarily paying them for it. That's another piece of kind of what this strike is about is really thinking about how many different iterations of something are you expected to work on without getting paid.
