Is Blackbeard a Pirate?

Blackbeard started out with a ship called revenge, and this was the ship that captain hornigold had given him. He then captured a french ship called le concord which he renamed queen anne's revenge - kind of a play on the war of spanish succession. The idea being that the people in the other ship would give up their goods pretty easily to make it a bit quicker and easier for everyone in vo he cat fishes them initially. They aren't atually criminals. It's like a host. Andsteao exactly that.
