The drug prohibition has elements of this where we're trying to prevent the people from indulging or becoming people we don't want them to be. And since the state comes after individuals, it's going to have to require some sort of control if It's going to take over the job of crafting the people in the name of democracy. We see that in Wilson's foreign policy. He believes he wanted to make the world safe for democracy and then what did we get? The second world war.
