The Rise of False Teachings
The role of the evangelist is mentioned alongside others in ephesians chapter four, verses 11 and 12. Paul describes this with the colourful metaphor of itching ears. People who reject the truth in this way will accumulate false thers. Faced with the rising tide of such false teaching and false teachers, timothy's faithful ness in his charge is all the more imperative. He needs to come through proven and faithful.
