The Right to Bear Arms
There is something really weirdly uniquely American, isn't there, about this right to bear arms? And we know that the constitutional stuff is not clear exactly what the founders meant when they wrote this word. This has become ingrained in kind of conservative Republican culture and dogma. If you cross the line on this, if you open up, even to the possibility of some kind of gun legislation, you are going to lose your primary or face a very real challenge at your primary level. That is just going to be very difficult, at least in the near term, to overcome.
